Achieving ambitious plan of Saudi Arabia vision of 2030 that depends on increasing domestic output while reducing dependence on oil requires the synergy between all private and government sectors. The plan included increasing pilgrims from 8 million to 30 million pilgrims a year. This qualitative leap requires the full development of the Holy Capital to accommodate these numbers. A number of mega development projects have already launched by Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, in order to take care of the Muslims Qibla (Makkah Almukarramah) to be one of the modern international cities.

A number of mega projects have been performed out in all areas of development in the Holy City. Some of which have been completed, and others are still ongoing. Projects include the expansion of the Holy Mosque, Holy Sites, roads, transportation, housing and others major projects, that are implemented by major institutions and development companies, managed by qualified national staff. Foremost of those development companies is Al-Balad Al-Amin Company.

These projects have received and still the direct support of those projects by His Majesty the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and continuous follow up from the Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Prince of Makkah Region. With support of Makkah Municipality, Development Authority of Makkah and the holy Sites, and guidance from the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs, Which reflect its great importance.

In spite of these projects, that qualify Makkah Almukarramah for an important civilized leap in the coming years, Makkah's cultural, heritage, religious and the historical elements necessitate preserving its distinctive character. Which form a milestone in the development of the Holy City. Moreover, this uniqueness among other Arab and Islamic cities as well as other cities of the Kingdom.

Within this context, ABAM's role appears clearly as a key player in development the unplanned settlement projects within Makkah region, based on specialized scientific methodology and distinctive Professionalism - prior to this, the strong desire to gain the God reward prior to benefits or advantages. ABAM is seeking to achieve this by highlighting the religious and historical character of the holy city within an exceptional and distinctive urban model befitting with its religious and a historical position at Muslims’ hearts and in the conscience.

One of the most important projects that ABAM has adopted, is “Development the Unplanned Settlements” in different locations that have a special priority and urgent need to be treated. Some of these areas are (Sharashef  Mountain, Kedwa, Kawas Al Nakasah, Zamzam Roundabout. Housing projects aim to provide affordable housing represented in Wahat Makkah at Um Aljoud region, which is considered the First fruit of the company, also, the development of suburban projects, especially the Bawabat Makkah project.

In order to achieve the maximum effectiveness and efficiency in results and output, ABAM has incorporated a number of affiliates, to assist in achieving its goals, (Bawabat Makkah, Wahat Makkah, Makkah Trains Company, Dheyafah Al Balad Al Amen, Al Beyah Al Mithaliah) are some of these companies.

Other developmental sister companies have been incorporated also: Wahat Makkah for Development, Ritaj Al-Balad Al-Ameen, Jorhum for Development, and Wadi Ibrahim for Development.

We realize that mission is not easy, and challenges are big, but our belief in God firstly, and the trust in the Rational Leadership that didn't hesitate for a moment in providing with all  support for this holy mission secondly, has given us insistence and determination not fade away, to go confidently towards achieving our goals.

In conclusion, I would like to extend my thanks, appreciation, and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz, and the Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the defense minister, and HH Royal Prince Khalid al-Faisal, the adviser of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques the Prince of  Makkah region chairman of the Executive Committee of the treatment and the development of Unplanned Settlements in Makkah. Thanks and appreciation to the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs Eng. Abdul Latif bin Abdulmalik Al-Sheikh may God save them all and hit on the path of goodness in their footsteps.
