Urban renewal for the built environment of Makkah’s unplanned settlements which creates a well-planned urban pattern, balanced housing supply, and efficient street and utility networks

Wahat Makkah Project of Affordable Housing

Purpose of the affordable housing project ( Wahat Makkah ) is to provide adequate housing for low-income people with high quality, taking into consideration to meet the demand on various types of housing and to provide appropriate design solutions while reducing costs and speed construction.The total area of ​​parks and streets 25,000 m2 , built up area 670,000 m2, while the area of residential buildings ​​290,000 m2, services buildings is estimated about 40,000 m2. The project when completed, is expected to accommodate from twenty thousand to twenty five thousand residence. The project is expected to be completed in full in five years, including the past two years. The estimated value of the project is 1.4 billion Saudi Riyals
